Lisbeth Salander is pulled back into the orbit of Millennium when a journalist investigating sex trafficking and his partner are murdered. Evidence points towards her, and the public account of the crime quickly hardens around her troubled history. Mikael Blomkvist follows another trail while Lisbeth confronts threats connected to the life she has tried to escape. The second Swedish Millennium film centres its bisexual protagonist's fight to control her own story, with her relationship with Miriam Wu drawn into the danger. The investigation exposes the distance between what institutions claim to know about Lisbeth and what those closest to her have actually witnessed.
