Vicky experiences the world through scent with an intensity no one around her can fully share. She keeps traces of the people she loves, especially her mother Joanne, as though preserving a smell might preserve a relationship. When her father’s sister Julia returns to their small town, the family’s unsettled past becomes newly present. Vicky’s gift carries her toward memories in which Joanne and Julia’s connection has consequences she cannot yet grasp. Léa Mysius’s fantasy-drama follows the overlap between a child’s need for security and an adult queer love story that refuses to stay buried, letting sensory experience open a path into desire, prejudice and unresolved loss.
