After a shooting at her school, Vada finds that ordinary life no longer feels ordinary. Her family wants to help, her friendships have shifted, and the familiar routines of being a teenager seem to belong to someone she was before. Mia, another student who survived the same terrifying moments, becomes a person with whom she can share both silence and unexpected closeness. Their connection opens into intimacy as Vada experiments with ways of feeling present again. Megan Park’s drama stays with the uncertain aftermath of trauma, following a young woman whose grief, attraction and attempts at recovery refuse to settle into a tidy sequence or a single reassuring answer.
