Scarlet has been sent to a wilderness programme whose demanding routines are intended to change the behaviour of privileged, troubled teenagers. Carrying grief and conflict from home, she responds to the camp's authority with little trust. The arrival of Dylan creates a connection that makes the harsh environment feel less isolating. As the girls begin to open up to one another, affection offers Scarlet a way to speak about experiences she has kept guarded. Yet the circumstances around them become increasingly difficult to understand, and their bond is tested by betrayal and revelations that reach beyond an ordinary camp story. This coming-of-age drama combines a central relationship between two girls with speculative turns, keeping questions of vulnerability, control and the reliability of experience close together.
