Lauren Pierce is a talented young archer whose life changes abruptly after an act of resistance leads to her placement in a juvenile correctional facility. The institution offers little protection from the people who control it, and Lauren soon finds herself navigating intimidation and abuse of power. Another inmate, Rebecca, becomes an important ally as the two look for a way beyond the facility’s boundaries. Their growing bond adds emotional stakes to an escape that demands resourcefulness as well as physical endurance. With the skills that once defined her sporting ambitions now taking on a different purpose, Lauren must decide whom she can trust and how far she will go to regain control of her life.
