Maia hopes a session with established photographer Francesca will revive a modelling career that has lost momentum. Personal loss and strain within her marriage make professional encouragement especially welcome. Francesca’s interest initially appears to offer confidence and opportunity, but her attention becomes harder to separate from a desire for control. As the women spend more time together, the boundaries between artistic collaboration, attraction and possession begin to blur. The psychological thriller follows an encounter in which being seen can become an increasingly uncomfortable experience. Maia must work out how much trust to place in someone whose admiration offers reassurance while also threatening to define the terms on which that reassurance is available.
