Adele arrives at her aunt Dora’s home to help care for a woman who keeps a tight hold on her surroundings and her money. The arrangement is lonely and restrictive, leaving Adele eager for company beyond the house. Meeting Beth introduces a confidence and freedom that seem absent from her daily routine, and their attraction becomes an increasingly important escape. Beth’s influence also draws Adele toward choices she finds harder to assess clearly. Set within a household shaped by isolation and unease, the film allows intimacy and apprehension to develop together. Its psychological horror follows a young woman whose longing for connection may make it difficult to recognize what a relationship is asking of her.
