Jasmine and Penny are still discovering the pleasures and awkwardness of a new relationship when they accept a lunch invitation from Billie and Jordan. Their hosts appear to have the kind of settled partnership a new couple might hope to build, complete with a comfortable home and familiar routines. An unexpected discovery in the bedroom complicates that impression and sends Jasmine and Penny into an increasingly uneasy effort to work out what they have found. Ordinary lunch conversation becomes difficult to separate from suspicion, embarrassment and private fears about relationships. The comedy unfolds through the contrast between appearances and assumptions, following four queer women whose afternoon together exposes how little anyone can know about another couple from the outside.
