Riz arrives in the United States hoping to leave a criminal past behind and begins working at a roadside motel. Sharing a room with Dallas brings her into contact with another young woman whose apparent boldness conceals precarious circumstances. Their initial hostility shifts into a more intimate alliance as the pressures around the motel close in. Exploitation, money and dangerous loyalties make it increasingly difficult to find a route that does not carry consequences for somebody else. This crime drama follows two outsiders trying to gain control of lives shaped by other people's power. Their queer connection is part of the film's central relationship, woven into a story about desire and survival that allows both women to remain complicated rather than simply innocent or guilty.
