Franky spends much of her life looking after other people. A young nurse in east London, she also carries the effects of a childhood fire and the anger of a family history that remains painfully unresolved. Meeting Florence, one of her patients, introduces a relationship that pulls her beyond the routines holding her in place. A visit to Florence’s coastal hometown brings Franky into contact with a different kind of household and the possibility of emotional safety. That new environment does not erase the past, but it creates room to confront it. Sacha Polak’s intimate drama follows a woman seeking love and independence while learning how to live with injuries that reach beyond the visible.
