Camille arrives at an exclusive girls’ boarding school after the death of a student has left the community unsettled. A confrontation with a group of classmates draws her into a late-night séance, and the attempt to contact the dead is followed by increasingly dangerous events. While alliances shift and students begin to disappear, Camille forms a bond with Helina that offers an alternative to the school’s suspicion and cruelty. Their attraction develops alongside a mystery in which rumour and performance can be as threatening as any ghost. Camille has her own reasons for being there, and the past is not as distant as the students imagine. Uncovering what happened will require separating supernatural fear from the intentions of the living.
