News of their mother's death brings estranged sisters Bobbi and Samantha back into contact. Bobbi's partner Ally joins them on a road trip to retrieve the ashes, turning a practical journey into an uncomfortable negotiation of old roles and present loyalties. Bobbi and Ally's kink relationship has a language and structure of its own, while Samantha carries a different understanding of the family they came from. Confined together, the three women discover that grief does not make their needs easier to reconcile. This dark comedy follows awkward encounters and emotional missteps without treating its characters as models of perfect communication. At its centre are a couple and a fractured sibling bond, each testing what it means to remain close without demanding that everybody live in the same way.
