In Japanese-occupied Korea in 1933, a failed assassination attempt triggers a search for a resistance operative known as Phantom. Five suspects are taken to an isolated hotel, where the authorities use intimidation and competing loyalties to turn uncertainty into a weapon. Among them is Park Cha-kyung, a woman whose carefully guarded life contains both political commitment and a deeply personal loss. As suspicion moves through the group, the mystery gives way to a struggle over who can control the next move. Lee Hae-young’s period thriller places women’s resistance at its centre, with Cha-kyung’s relationship to a female lover shaping the emotional stakes beneath the codes, disguises and violence.
