In the high-rise neighbourhoods of Paris’s thirteenth arrondissement, four young adults negotiate the uncertain space between sex, friendship and commitment. Émilie and Camille become involved after meeting through a housing arrangement, while Nora tries to restart her studies and is distressed by being mistaken for webcam performer Amber Sweet. Nora’s attempt to understand the resemblance leads her into contact with Amber herself. What begins in embarrassment and curiosity develops into an intimate connection that makes Nora reconsider both the image imposed on her and the person she wants to be. As the different relationships shift, digital encounters and face-to-face lives continually overlap. Each character seeks closeness while discovering how difficult it can be to recognise it when it arrives in an unexpected form.
