Laine’s home life is coming apart, and the responsibilities left behind by her parents’ separation feel increasingly difficult to carry. A new circle of friends introduces her to Riga’s underground rave scene, where nights seem to offer a way out of the routines waiting at home. There she falls for Gunda, a more experienced raver whose confidence makes that unfamiliar world even more compelling. Desire, parties and the need to belong begin pulling Laine in directions she cannot easily reconcile. Matīss Kaža’s Latvian coming-of-age drama follows a young woman discovering her sexuality while losing her footing, letting the excitement of escape coexist with its accumulating emotional cost.
