Elliott is preparing to leave her family’s cranberry farm for college when a birthday mushroom trip brings her face to face with a much older version of herself. The visitor has plenty of opinions about the future, including one warning that proves difficult to follow. As Elliott spends her last summer at home, conversations with her older self change the way she looks at family, desire and the life she is so eager to begin. Her certainty about who she is also becomes more expansive as new feelings emerge. Megan Park’s comedy treats growing up as an encounter between the freedom of possibility and the knowledge that nothing stays the same.
