Heather lives at the edge of a small Canadian town, hemmed in by a volatile household and the rules surrounding a family curse. Her life becomes less contained when she meets Jonny, a figure skater whose confidence draws her toward experiences she has long kept at a distance. Their attraction gives Heather a chance to imagine a different future, but it also puts pressure on the secrecy that governs her home. As her feelings deepen, the boundary between suppressed desire and physical transformation becomes harder to hold. Combining a coming-of-age romance with supernatural horror, the film follows a young person reaching for intimacy while fearing what might happen if she stops controlling herself.
