Karole and Ali love each other and want to become parents. Turning that wish into a practical plan, however, brings them into contact with costs, procedures and uncertainties that affection alone cannot resolve. Each new attempt asks them to invest more money and emotional energy, while everyday life continues around the effort to build a family. Friends and the wider circle of people who care for them offer companionship, complications and moments of relief. Inspired by director Karole Di Tommaso’s own experience, this intimate Italian drama finds room for humour alongside disappointment. At its centre is a couple trying to protect their relationship while pursuing something they both want, and discovering how much support that pursuit can require.
