In the spring of 1986, news of the Chernobyl disaster reaches a small Finnish community as Mariia meets a new girl named Mimi. Their connection turns an ordinary summer into a period of intense discovery, bringing first love into a life still shaped by family and the limits of adolescence. Years later, Mariia’s return to her childhood home brings the relationship back into focus. The adult present and remembered summer sit beside one another, revealing how a brief, formative attachment can continue to shape a person. Inari Niemi’s drama approaches the girls’ romance through memory, tracing both the brightness of being seen by someone and the long emotional life of experiences left unresolved.
