Sasha and Paige have built a friendship that occupies much of the space a romantic partnership might otherwise fill. Their routines are comfortable, their closeness is taken for granted, and neither has needed to examine the arrangement too carefully. When Paige begins a serious relationship with Tim, Sasha finds the balance changing in ways she cannot easily dismiss. Her own dating life offers little reassurance, and affection between the friends starts to coexist with resentment. The comedy follows a lesbian woman and her straight best friend as they negotiate a transition neither knows how to manage gracefully. Growing up means learning that an important relationship can change without becoming disposable, but knowing that does not make the adjustment painless.
