Lauren has a plan for Thanksgiving: bring Hailey home, introduce her properly, and finally tell her family that the woman beside her is her girlfriend. It sounds straightforward until the holiday gathering begins. Relatives arrive with their own preoccupations, a male roommate complicates everyone’s assumptions, and each promising opening for a conversation turns into another interruption. Hailey wants to be recognised as part of Lauren’s life, while Lauren struggles to make a declaration that suddenly feels much bigger in her childhood home. Jenna Laurenzo’s ensemble comedy turns a familiar family holiday into a chain of misunderstandings, following the uncomfortable distance between being ready to know yourself and being ready to explain yourself to everyone at the table.
