A Christmas Eve snowstorm interrupts the routines of a small town and draws a group of teenagers into encounters they had not planned. At the local diner, Dorrie is trying to understand why Kerry, a girl with whom she has shared a connection, behaves differently when her friends are watching. Around them, other young people wrestle with friendship, ambition and romantic choices of their own. The weather gives their separate stories a shared setting while making it harder to retreat into familiar habits. Dorrie's hopes and disappointment form one of the film's central ensemble romances, with Kerry's uncertainty bringing the pressure of being seen into focus. This holiday comedy follows the awkward courage involved in asking whether a private feeling can become something acknowledged in public.
