Yui Yamada is happiest tending the flowers at school, while Tomoka Kase seems completely at home on the running track. Becoming girlfriends brings the shy gardener and the confident athlete into a shared world that neither quite knows how to navigate. Everyday moments acquire enormous significance: a conversation with friends, time spent together after class, or a worry that is easier to imagine than to say aloud. As their final school year approaches its next turning point, Yui begins thinking about the future and where their relationship might fit within it. This animated romance follows the small negotiations of first love, finding its drama in insecurity, affection and the courage required to let another person understand you.
