Jack and Diane meet in New York and fall into a connection that feels immediate, consuming and difficult to explain. Jack’s guarded manner begins to soften around Diane, whose apparent innocence hides an emotional intensity of her own. Their new intimacy is quickly threatened by Diane’s approaching departure, forcing both young women to imagine losing something they have only just found. At the same time, unsettling visions give physical shape to feelings neither can comfortably contain. Bradley Rust Gray’s romantic drama folds horror imagery into a story of first love, letting attraction become strange and bodily without making it any easier to understand. As the time available to them narrows, Jack and Diane struggle with the fear that closeness may be as fragile as it is powerful.
