Poppy would rather enjoy the pleasures of being single than finish the book her agent is waiting for. A deadline makes that arrangement difficult to maintain. When Elaine enters her life and becomes a source of inspiration, Poppy thinks she has found a way to solve her creative problem without changing her own habits. Elaine, however, wants a relationship with a future, not a temporary role in somebody else’s writing process. Andrew Willig’s independent comedy follows a plan that depends on one woman treating intimacy as something she can manage from a comfortable distance. The more useful the relationship becomes to Poppy’s work, the harder it is to avoid the person whose feelings have made the arrangement possible in the first place.
