Singer Layne Price has lost the ability to write the songs her career depends on. A visit to a fortuneteller sends her back to Nashville for New Year’s Eve, where she hopes that finding an old flame will help her recover her inspiration. Her best friend Cassie joins the search with an entirely different hope: she wants Layne to recognise the love that has grown between them. As the night takes the women through familiar places and unexpected encounters, Layne’s fixation on the past keeps distracting her from the person beside her. Music and romantic misunderstandings accompany a holiday story about learning to notice a future that friendship has already begun to make possible.
