Marla Grayson has built a profitable business around the language of care. Appointed as a guardian to vulnerable older people, she takes control of their lives and assets while presenting herself as an indispensable professional. Her partner and lover Fran helps keep the operation running with ruthless efficiency. Their latest target, Jennifer Peterson, appears to be an ideal prospect: wealthy, isolated, and unlikely to resist. The calculation changes when Jennifer’s hidden connections bring a dangerous adversary into Marla’s carefully managed world. Refusing to surrender her advantage, Marla draws Fran further into a contest where legal authority and criminal power begin to resemble each other. The dark comedy follows a couple whose devotion exists alongside their willingness to exploit everyone else.
