Dita has built a home that makes room for people who struggle to find safety elsewhere. Motherhood was never part of her plan, but her partner Suada’s illness changes what the household needs from her. After Suada dies, Dita must help raise two daughters whose grief does not arrive in a tidy or easily managed form. Friends, lovers and improvised family arrangements become essential as the adults try to protect the children within a society that does not readily recognize their bonds. Set in North Macedonia, this ensemble drama follows the messy practical work of caring for one another across differences of ethnicity, sexuality and generation, asking what makes a family endure.
