María and Susana would rather be making music and enjoying their summer than following the rules of a Catholic camp. Their ambitions collide with the expectations of the nuns responsible for them, but the camp also becomes a place of unexpected personal discovery. María’s spiritual experiences draw her toward questions she cannot easily explain, while Susana notices a different side of Sister Milagros, whose own desires do not fit neatly within her religious role. Songs and comic misunderstandings accompany changes in all their lives. Within its broader ensemble story, the film makes room for an attraction between women, exploring how faith, friendship and first love can challenge the identities people have accepted for themselves.
