Alison Miller is trying to keep her family together in a small industrial town where her father’s imprisonment continues to shape how other people see them. She works to support her younger brother Brandon, while her relationship with Charlene offers a connection beyond those responsibilities. When Brandon disappears and becomes linked to a murder investigation, Alison refuses to accept the simplest explanation. Her search takes her through a community of grudges, secrets and people who know more than they initially admit. The film places a lesbian protagonist at the center of a family thriller, following her determination to find her brother while the life she has carefully held together becomes increasingly difficult to control.
