Hedda

Hedda Gabler returns from her honeymoon to a life that already feels too small. Her husband’s ambitions promise security, but little of the freedom she wants. During a gathering at their new home, the arrival of Eileen Lovborg—an accomplished writer and Hedda’s former lover—reopens desires and rivalries that marriage has not erased. As the evening unfolds, old attachments collide with professional competition and the pressure to maintain appearances. Nia DaCosta reimagines Henrik Ibsen’s play in mid-century England, placing a charged relationship between two women at the heart of its social struggle. Hedda’s search for control soon threatens everyone drawn into her orbit.
