Elle Reid has just ended a relationship when her granddaughter Sage arrives asking for help paying for an abortion. With little money immediately available, the two set out to find it, visiting people whose connections to Elle are more complicated than Sage expects. Their day together brings old friendships, debts and grief back into view. Elle’s sharp wit can protect her from uncomfortable feelings, but it can also make it harder to offer the care her granddaughter needs. The comedy follows an urgent errand that becomes a conversation between generations. As Sage faces a decision about her future, Elle is forced to look again at the relationships and losses that have shaped her own life.
