Mimmi and Rönkkö work together at a smoothie counter, trading observations about customers and their own still-unsettled lives. When Mimmi meets Emma, a dedicated figure skater, attraction develops into a first love powerful enough to disturb both girls’ routines. Emma’s discipline and Mimmi’s defensiveness create pressures alongside the excitement of being seen by someone new. Rönkkö, meanwhile, pursues her own questions about desire and pleasure on a different path. Told across a small number of weekends, Alli Haapasalo’s coming-of-age drama lets friendship and romance sit beside one another, following young women whose experiments do not lead to identical answers or require them to arrive at adulthood together.
