Axun goes to hospital to visit a relative and unexpectedly encounters Maite, a friend from her youth. The reunion brings an ease and pleasure that surprise them both, reviving memories of a closeness they had never fully understood. Maite has lived openly as a lesbian, while Axun’s long marriage and familiar routines have left certain questions unasked. Over the course of their renewed friendship, time together becomes something Axun must increasingly account for, both to her husband and to herself. Jon Garaño and Jose Mari Goenaga’s drama follows desire arriving late enough to disturb an apparently settled life, giving its women room to consider whether the future still contains possibilities they once assumed had passed.
