In Shadyside, another brutal killing spree feels less like a surprise than the latest chapter in a history nobody can escape. Deena Johnson is already struggling with a painful breakup when her former girlfriend Sam becomes entangled in a terrifying sequence of events. Suddenly the past is pursuing them in the form of killers who should be dead. Together with Deena’s brother and their friends, the young women search for a way to survive a curse that appears to know exactly who it wants. Old resentments between Shadyside and its prosperous neighbour make trust difficult, while Deena and Sam’s unresolved feelings raise the stakes of every decision. Protecting one another may require confronting the story their town has accepted for centuries.
