Sweety’s family has plenty of ideas about the man she should marry. None makes room for the woman she already loves. When an aspiring playwright becomes interested in her, his arrival seems to offer her relatives another promising match, while giving Sweety an unexpected chance to be heard. Set in Punjab, this warm ensemble comedy follows the misunderstandings, hopes and fears that gather around a secret she has carried for years. Her challenge is not finding the right person so much as finding a way to explain herself to the people whose affection matters most. Theatre becomes a space where private feelings can take a public form, and familiar family rituals make room for a difficult conversation about belonging.
