Four sisters return to Madrid after their mother's death, expecting grief and family friction rather than a complete revision of their history. A message left behind sends them searching for the truth about their biological fathers. Following the clues means spending time together after years of living very different lives, and it soon becomes impossible to keep their private difficulties separate from the investigation. Sofía, an artist whose relationships with women are part of her own unsettled life, joins sisters carrying romantic disappointments and insecurities of their own. Their disagreements turn the journey into a test of how well they actually know one another. The film is an ensemble family comedy in which a lesbian co-lead's personal choices sit within a broader story about inheritance, intimacy and adult sisterhood.
