At an isolated girls' boarding school, Miss G's adventurous stories and glamorous manner make her an object of fascination for the pupils on her diving team. Di guards her position as the teacher's favourite until Fiamma arrives, bringing an assurance that does not depend on Miss G's approval. The teacher's interest in the newcomer changes the atmosphere around the group, exposing the jealousy and dependency beneath its apparent freedom. Jordan Scott's period drama follows an increasingly dangerous imbalance of power, distinguishing adolescent admiration from the adult responsibility to maintain boundaries. Attraction becomes entangled with authority in a school that offers its pupils few ways to challenge either.
