During a stifling Berlin summer, Nora drifts through the world of her older sister and the teenagers around her, watching closely but rarely feeling at ease. Changes in her body and the expectations of other girls leave her unsure how to behave or who she wants to become. Meeting Romy changes the rhythm of those days. More self-possessed and difficult to read, Romy draws Nora into a closeness that makes her surroundings feel newly alive. Nora’s fascination becomes a first experience of desire, with all the uncertainty and vulnerability that entails. The film stays close to her small discoveries, tracing how friendship, longing, and disappointment can quietly reshape a young person’s sense of herself.
