After a painful breakup, Karen retreats to a secluded lake house that belongs to her former partner. The escape offers distance from the relationship she cannot quite leave behind, but little certainty about what comes next. There she encounters Lana, a younger woman whose confidence and stories pull Karen into an increasingly complicated attachment. Flirtation and companionship provide temporary relief while raising questions about trust, boundaries and the roles each woman wants the other to play. Set against the stillness of the Pacific Northwest, the film gradually unsettles the apparent safety of their refuge. It follows desire as something capable of offering recognition while also exposing loneliness, unequal power and the difficulty of understanding another person through the needs of your own unfinished past.
