Cat is a quiet photography student who often finds it easier to observe the world through a camera than to take part in it. Her attention is drawn to April, a confident young woman whose presence disrupts the distance Cat usually keeps from other people. Watching gradually gives way to contact, and the possibility of a relationship begins to change the way Cat sees both herself and her surroundings. Their attraction develops amid personal difficulties and circumstances that cannot simply be left outside the frame. The film follows an uneven movement from private fascination toward vulnerability, using photography as part of a story about loneliness, desire and the courage required to let another person look back.
