Amy and Molly have devoted their high-school years to achievement, expecting the sacrifices to pay off in a future that justifies missing the present. On the eve of graduation, a discovery about their classmates unsettles that bargain. The friends decide to fit the experiences they avoided into one night, setting out with more determination than practical knowledge. For openly gay Amy, the adventure also brings the possibility of acting on attraction instead of keeping it safely imagined. This coming-of-age comedy follows two central friends whose confidence in their plans is tested by unfamiliar social situations and the prospect of going separate ways. Amy's sexuality belongs naturally within her own story of desire and self-discovery, rather than becoming a problem the friendship has to solve.
