Jackie arrives at college hoping that study will help her build an identity beyond the television role that made her recognizable. Independence proves more complicated than leaving acting behind, especially when an attraction to psychology professor Catherine turns into a relationship. Catherine’s attention offers reassurance and excitement, but the difference in their positions creates pressures that neither can simply wish away. When Jackie’s former career begins to offer new possibilities, the future she wants becomes harder to reconcile with the relationship she has entered. Fernanda Cardoso’s drama follows a young adult trying to distinguish being chosen from choosing for herself, as affection, professional authority and the prospect of another life pull her in competing directions.
