Kate arrives at an elite Paris ballet academy on a scholarship, determined to prove that she belongs among dancers whose money and connections seem to guarantee them a future. Her new roommate Marine is talented, volatile and protected by privilege, but also carrying a grief that refuses to stay outside the rehearsal room. Initial hostility gives way to an intense bond as the two young women test each other’s limits and discover desires that complicate their rivalry. With a coveted place at the Paris Opera at stake, loyalty becomes increasingly difficult to separate from ambition. Their intimacy offers an escape from the school’s punishing hierarchy, yet it also gives each dancer the power to hurt the person who understands her best.
