For Lucie, singer Lauren Waks is much more than a favourite performer: her image fills the teenager’s room and shapes the emotional world she retreats into. An arranged meeting transforms that distant fascination into a possibility Lucie cannot leave alone. She follows Lauren and finds a place close to the star, discovering the exhaustion, loneliness and dependence hidden behind public glamour. Their connection blurs admiration, desire and the need to be needed, with each woman asking something different of the other. The closer Lucie gets to her idol, the less secure the boundary becomes between the person she loves and the fantasy she has built.
