Riley is a talented cheerleader whose determination has carried her toward a place on an elite squad. Joining the team with her girlfriend Amanda should be a breakthrough, but a demanding coach and the pressure to prove herself intensify Riley’s anxiety. Training begins to spill into every part of her life, testing her relationship and the support she is willing to accept from others. As a major competition approaches, perfection becomes a goal that seems to move farther away the harder she works. D. W. Waterson’s drama places a young queer athlete’s ambition alongside the practical and emotional demands of trusting the people who help her stay upright.
