As the Berlin Wall approaches its fall, British intelligence operative Lorraine Broughton arrives in a city where loyalties shift as quickly as information changes hands. Her assignment involves a murdered colleague, a dangerous list and a network of agents who may be working toward incompatible goals. Lorraine relies on observation, deception and force while trying to distinguish useful allies from carefully constructed traps. Her involvement with French operative Delphine adds another intimate and uncertain connection to the mission. Moving through nightlife, surveillance and sudden violence, the film follows a woman whose private attachments cannot be easily separated from her professional survival. The question of whom to believe becomes as important as the information she was sent to recover.
