Max returns to the neighbourhood she left behind after finding a different life as the singer in a rock band. Success has changed the way she is seen, but it has not erased the ties that draw her back. Among the people waiting is Ramira, whose connection with Max carries desire, hurt, and unfinished history. Other familiar faces reveal how much has happened in her absence, and how little some of the pressures surrounding them have changed. Memories, music, and difficult reunions bring old promises into question. As Max tries to understand what leaving cost the women around her, the film follows a return that becomes a confrontation with love, abandonment, and the violence woven through their shared past.
