Anne expects the next stage of her life to involve leaving Amsterdam and joining her girlfriend Sara in Montreal. A setback with the manuscript of her first novel interrupts that apparently settled plan, forcing her to ask what she is trying to say and whose future she is following. Encounters with friends and with Lou, a non-binary drag king, broaden those questions beyond the page. As she revises her writing, she also begins reconsidering the shape of her relationships. This feature continuation of Anne’s story follows a queer young woman taking her own uncertainty seriously, even when that means questioning a romantic future she had already started to imagine.
