Mimaroben works aboard a vast passenger ship carrying people away from a damaged Earth towards a new life on Mars. Her job is to guide them through an immersive technology that restores comforting memories of the world they have left. When the voyage is thrown off course, that service becomes increasingly important to passengers who can no longer rely on their timetable or their destination. As the ship’s routines change, Mimaroben finds connection with pilot Isagel, and their relationship becomes part of the effort to build a life inside an uncertain future. Adapted from Harry Martinson’s poem, this Swedish science-fiction drama considers love, collective behaviour and the stories people tell themselves when a temporary journey begins to feel like an entire world.
